Kind of a funny story
My first Mattamy was missing a light bulb in the kitchen right at the top of the basement stairs. During our PDI we noted the missing lightbulb and fixture housing. The Mattamy representative told us "No problem, we'll have a light bulb in there before you take possession!"

Sure enough there was a bulb and the fixture was in place and functional just as they promised.

Then...first day moving in my Brother opens the basement door and smash! breaks the light fixture etc. There was a design flaw and three different doors opened into this fixture! Someone obviously knew about it and didnt put in a light bulb but no one did anything about it.

Long story short...Mattamy fixed it pretty quick. No real harm done and we got a free pot light! hehe

We were so intent on not missing anything, we looked everywhere for something they might have hidden or were trying to get away with etc. Here was an obvious problem and we missed it! Guess we were so worried Mattamy was trying to rip us off by not giving us a lightbulb and cover that we didnt even notice the very obvious design flaw! :o

Depends on whether or not you got the EnergyStar package.

If you didn't, you get the older style filament bulbs. If you did, you get the new CFL bulbs, which are energy efficient.

I dont think it really matters anyway! Energy efficient bulbs are alot cheaper now anyway! And besides it wont matter how bright the light bulb is anyway as most of the shades you get in any house or standard light fixtures are crappy anyway! Just a natural fact! Most of the standard dining room chandeliers you can surely find at a local garage sale if not wait till this summer and you will surely find one at my house and a few others!

We always upgrade aftermarket for bulbs and fixtures as the builder charges a fortune!
All the best people!

As Frank said, the energy efficient (CFL) bulbs are cheap enough anyhow... just buy only those for your house and replace them as the standard ones blow out.

It's not one of the main features of the package, more of a throw-in IMHO.

Haha Frank, we're noobs (and have not gone through the new construction home purchase before :p )

I've read the Schedule A many times in the beginning and haven't read it since... There is just sooo many things in there it's hard to remember!
