Yah for the dog walkers... :D
1.2 Mattamy Millpond Subdivision Trail Development - phase 1 of 2
As an extensive trail system is built by the developer in this new Hespeler subdivision
area situated between Guelph Ave., Blackbridge Road and the CNR RWY over the
next couple of years, approximately $60,000 in total (approximately $28,000 in 2008
and $32,000 in 2009) of trail funding has been allocated for new trail development in
this area. The developer started trail construction late this fall and will have a
substantial portion of the trails built by the summer of next year. Payment for the first
phase (and second) is anticipated to be made by late summer/the fall of next year
upon completion of trail construction.
CTAC places a high priority in establishing a trail connection from Jacobs landing/the
Hespeler Mill Pond to the trails within the Mattamy Mill Pond subdivision area and
subsequent to their field trip in February, staff met with CNR staff on the possibility of
creating a pedestrian trail crossing over the RWY this past May. The investigation of
this important trail link possibility continues.
