We ended up getting this for our wall as the conduit running behind and the raised outlets made sense.

But I / we still have a few questions that remained unanswered. Where will the other end of the conduit open up to? Im hoping to hide as many wires as possible for our TV / sound system and am hoping they will have it in a spot thats condusive to this.

Our design consultant didnt seem to know and since it wasnt in our original package we didnt have time to research. :(

I'm not sure if you already have this information but I can give you the description from my design book. I have no idea if this will be helpful to you because I don't know anything about electrical stuff. We're in a 50 foot Northridge Elevation D so I don't know if this description would apply to you but here it is:

Plasma Ready Wall - includes reinforced support behind plasma ready wall, one electrical outlet, and one of the 2 included cable T.V. outlets for this house. Plasma ready wall will also include a nominal 2 1/4" ABS conduit from basement ceiling space to centre of the plasma ready wall adjacent to the electrical outlet and cable rough-ins, an additional conduit from the basement ceiling space to the location determined by the purchaser along the same wall as the plasma ready wall.

KC, I think that info is standard for all! We got a Victoria in a 34 foot lot and we got the exact same info! I heard stories of the conduit falling back into the wall but i hope it doesnt happen with us! : }

KC, thanks so much, thats a little more detail then we had...

it wasnt in our design book and we basically had pictures to work with that weren't too helpful ... that description is great

We got to choose where the other end of the conduit came out - and our DC (Jen) made a note of it on the interior plan drawings that are included with the upgrades document. We picked the adjoining wall near the corner (not the fireplace wall) as the fireplace has windows on either side and didn't want to put our entertainment centre in front of the windows. Hope that helps.

Also, welcome, Justmed! It's nice to have another townhouse owner on here. We almost picked the Ellacott - nice choice!!

So, does that mean where we chose to have our cable outlets (if I remember right 4.5 feet) thats where the second hole is?

I know its me being paranoid, just want to make sure... I mean there has to be a spot for the cables to go in, and for the cables to come out and connect to their receivers... we have enough going on with our set up right now (surround sound etc) if we're going to do it we want it to be right.

BTW, Jen was great with us. What did you think?

Nice choice with the Dickson too. That was one we seriously looked at, pretty similar layout.

Yes, we really liked her. I pestered her with questions during the weeks leading up to our appointment and she was really responsive. I didn't feel like she was trying to 'upsell' us either. I am really happy with all the choices we made - I just can't wait to see what it's all going to look like when it's done!

I think you're right about the cable being where the conduit ends - but my husband will know better so I'll get him to respond later if he remembers anything different.

See ya, neighbor!

yeah, thats what we really liked... we didnt feel any pressure to get things we didnt want. And when we had questions, most of the time she said just go with the included package.

Gotta like that.

That would be much appreciated

They've framed in ours properly... good sign. Double studded wall for the TV to hang

Us too! We were there on Sunday...what a difference from last week!! We were really happy with everything overall. And we found the extra studs over the fireplace as well.

makes a whole lot more sense when you see the conduit / boxes in place:)

Did you see any ventilation or bulk heads (not sure what it is called) for the fireplace? I'm not sure if yours is dry walled yet, but prior to it being dry walled? We have our plasma ready wall done, but I don't see any indication of a fireplace being installed. Did you see anything at your place?

The fireplaces should be direct vented...they go straight out the back to the outside. The vent doesn't get installed till the fireplace itself goes in.

That's what my husband tells me anyway.

ETA: Sorry, on our model, the fireplace is on an exterior wall, which would make my answer make sense. I just noticed that on your model, the fireplace is on an interior wall, so yes, there should be ventilation before drywall goes up. I'd ask about this on your framewalk.
