Hi All,

I am putting hardwood on the first floor.......and mybe even the upstairs hall way.............

The Bruce hardwood would be $1000.00 cheaper than the Mirage.

Does anyone know the difference between the two?
Is the wood the same?
Is the stain quality the same.

I know that the ends on the Mirage are tapered to have a cleaner look......is there any other difference.

The Greenway maodel, has Bruce....and I think it looks great....

I didn't know that the Mirage was cheaper.
I'm also interested to know the differences.

lol.......well its the weekend so enjoy...............LOL........

I hate to spend 1000. more on Mirage if there is no difference. I know that the ends are tapered on the Mirage.............but you only notice that if you are on the floor.....LOL

I better start drinking now, maybe I'll make more sense haha

We didn't even notice a price difference honestly. We basically saw that we liked that floor colour the most and we can afford the total price to have the whole main floor in hardwood and went with it.
I guess any differences any can mention will be a delightful bonus.

We went with the bruce as well! Some finishes of hardwood can scratch easier then others! But unless your gonna sit there with a screwdriver end and rub the surface it isnt gonna make a difference! I think it is important to go with a thicker size though such as 3/4 inch so in the future you have something that can be sanded and refinished more then once!:D

To us we went with the colour that we wanted and were happy with that! If it serves the same purpose and your happy with it then why does it matter!

Mirage flooring is rated better though, but ultimately it comes down to personal choice!

Hi STyle.

I agree with everything you say....lol

The colours seem to be very close between the Bruce and Mirage......

If they put Bruce in one of the models, then it cant be too bad....LOL

Now I just need to decide what colour floor to go with.....LOL.........the cocoa vienna with coca montery cabinets and grey blue walls........or the floor they used in the Greenway model.......which is Colorado in Mirrage, saddle dundee plank in the bruce..i think......with a cinamon coloured cabinet....lol..................

So Jrb! Are you going with hardwood in the kitchen as well! just curious as you mentioned the Cocoa monterrey cabinets!
I think it looks great however just watch that you dont drop any small appliances on it or you could get a big ding in it!:) Also watch when you are pulling out the appliances to clean behind them!
It gives it a more country look I feel but in the end we went with ceramic tiles in ours!

Hi STyle,

the floor in the kitchen is one of the few things i am positive about...lol

It will be Anatolia Beige...............and tumbled marble travertine light subway tile.......and travertine counter..............

I was tempted to put hardwood in kitchen as I know it is softer to walk on........

But there is a garden door in kitchen and an eat in breakfast area, so i will use tile..................

There is a centre island in the Southgate End..........so it will be divided from the great room anyway......
