upgraded trim package

Is any one considering one of the upgraded trim packages.....LOL

I really like the look of the taller baseboard, just not sure if it would make any difference.

Jrb, I think it depends on the size of your house and if you have 9 foot ceilings or not. The ugraded trim packages and bigger baseboards can be very expensive.

I actually got the most expenisve trim package and the 7 1/4 inch baseboards and the total cost is almost $5000. We're in a Northridge 50 foot.

If you plan on putting drapes on your windows I think the upgraded trim is a waste because you will be hiding most of it with your window coverings. I opted to do 2 inch faux wood blinds only to show off the upgraded trim.

Also if you don't end up going for the premium paint package and stick with the included paint colors the upgraded trim package will also be a waste because it will blend into your wall color because the colors are going to be the same. Again making your upgraded trim almost invisible. Same goes for the baseboards.

If you want upgraded trim and baseboards choose a darker paint color and have the trim, doors and baseboards painted white to get the contrast and make it pop.
