Since we've established that we're a dog-loving bunch, I thought it would be fun to post pictures of our pups (ok, kitties are allowed too I guess.)

Here goes - I hope this works:

This is Maeby. She's a weiner dog.

you can attach them, (manage attachments just below the text box)

or host them at a site like photobucket.com and then just click the 'image code' i think it is ( it will save {IMG} on either side of the link when you paste it into the thread

I did that - I linked it to my facebook album - which is set to public - and still nothing. Oh well.

Babymaeby,
Try saving the picture from facebook (Right click and save picture) and then post it?

linking to the album picture won't show up unless we've seen it I think...

just need to save it to your computer then attach it, or use a photobucket acct.

We have a cat named Zoe, hopefully everybody will be nice to her. She will catch you a mouse or snake if you are!

No need for the pest control here... Buddy and Holly are world class killers. This is our son taking them for a walk behind our house last summer.

Mice, rats, snakes, bunnies, mourning doves, robins... the list of victims goes on and on.

All of your pups are so cute!!! I myself don't have a dog yet but it's definitely on the to get list once we've moved in. We currently have a cat so perhaps I will post her picture on here when I get a moment.

Our boy dog got sprayed by a skunk last night... not a pleasant experience. Second time in two years.

Dave, good luck with that skunk smell!! What do you guys use???

Dion, the latest breed I'm interested in is an English Sheepdog! However that could change I've thought of a Golden Retriever, Weimeraner (sp?), Bermese Mountain Dog (sp?) and now I'm liking the English Sheepdog! Honestly at this point I would take anything that needs a good home!! *L* I just love animals!

Have a great week! D:)

Maeby came so close to getting sprayed last night at my sis-in-laws over at townline estates. If it had happened, I'm sure it would have been the last time they ever dog-sat her....what did you do to get rid of the stink? Does the dog suffer? I haven't ever experienced it but I figure I should probably be prepared now that we moved out to the 'country'.

We learned from the last time that it happened that the whole tomato juice thing does NOT work. It simply masks the odor for a while. Once the tomato juice effect wears off you've still got a very skunky and now pink dog. Here's what works:

1 L hydrogen peroxide (3%)
1/4 cup baking soda
1 TBSP liquid soap

wear latex gloves our you will have skunky hands for a while. mix it all up in a bucket and lather the pooch up concentrating on the areas that got sprayed (likely the face/chest area). Let it stand for at least ten minutes then rinse. Be careful to avoid the dogs eyes.

As for "does the dog suffer" - Yes. Almost immediately after being sprayed your dogs eyes will be very bloodshot and puffy and their breathing can be affected too. The sooner you clean the dog the better both for the lingering smell and the physical trauma.

If you can avoid bringing the dog into the house until he is clean then do so... I couldn't.

Awh, too bad the poor thing didn't learn from the last time it happened...skunks are not to be messed with.

Now I'm going to make sure I have hydrogen peroxide on hand just in case...thanks for the info.
