fake attic window on Victoria 'C'

has anyone noticed the fake window on the Victoria 'C'. This is the house we bought and we feel like that fake attic window looks so cheap (when seen in person). Has anyone been able to get this left off the house during the build? We asked mattamy but they said that they won't b able to do it because the city approves the exterior look of the houses and they have to build them exactly as they were approved.

If they wont leave it off I am going to take it off myself after closing...it seems to just be nailed into the siding
