We have upgraded our wall tiles in the bathub to a white subway tile. When we saw them in the showroom they looked white, now that they are installed they look baby pink!!!! I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with these tiles or something similar and if Mattamy did anything to fix it?
Its not because of the paint color because the walls were not painted when the tile went in, or the floors/ cabinets that is reflecting on this tile etc. Mattamy is saying it might be from a film they havent removed yet on the bathroom window?
They completely screwed up our tiles in our basement bathroom. They had to be removed and redone after we moved in.
Is there any way you can get a sample of the tile in your contract and take it to the house to compare? Is the design centre still open or is it permanently closed?

The problem is it is the same tile! Just in the showroom it looked white and installed it is pink. So really they dont have to do anything which sucks. But i paid for this upgrade expecting white tiles but installed they are clearly pink looking so they had some kind of pink undertone that you couldnt see in the showroom!

From what I understand it is only the sales centre that is closed and the design centre is remaining open...can anyone confirm this?

I was there a couple of weeks ago (interestingly also to check some til colours that didn't seem to be what I remembered) and they said that soon the the design centre would no longer be open on the weekends but only for the weekday appointment for the last buyers who are having their design appoinments. But not exactly sure when this is happening.

That sucks! We've gone through something similar... our floor tiles on the main floor looked very peachy. But the key is when you paint, say away from that hue. So we painted like a mud grey and changed the colour and now they look just right!!! Just say away from pink/reds even purples.

Well i hope so, we are going to wait for our PDI and see where we stand, the colors are beige but i just dont see how painting them will change this tile. Its really pink when its supposed to be white. I just wish i didnt spend $400 on them!!!

Lisa, sorry... just want to be clear... I mean when you paint the walls.... not the tiles.

LOL yes i would never paint the tiles. lol The tiles looked pink before the walls were even painted, but mattamy is saying its probably the paint color that is making the tiles look pink which i know its not. I used to be a decor rep for a home builder lol so i know not to paint the tiles. =)
