Hey
Can anyone who purchased the round corner bead please put my mind to rest and give me a break down as to what corners that includes?
- Whole house?
- Bulk heads?
- Coffered Ceilings?
- Doorway openings (where there is no actual door)?
- Knee walls?
- Peek-a-boo windows between 2 rooms (ie. dining room/great room)?
Thanks

...Did anyone get the rounded corners?
We did not go for the rounded corner bead option. It can make it really hard to select paint colours for certain areas because it's hard to decide where one room starts and one ends even when they should be considered separate from each other. It can be a painting nightmare. If you love the softer look, go for it but you might curse it one day down the road. That's my two cents worth. ;)

Thanks for the feedback. We actually have already decided to go with the rounded corners. I know what you mean about deciding where 1 room ends and the next starts. I think we will have to make use of the outside walls to add accents to each room. We absolutely love the look of the rounded corners tho.

We did opt for the rounded corners and love them. It has been a bit more difficult to paint but our interior decorator suggested either taping the corners to match the paint colours with a straight line or we have this amazing new tool which we use to do all of our edging which paints a perfect line down and then we match the other colour right up to it.
the round corners are great for not chipping the paint off and are really easy to repair. Great option!

Yea we have a couple of friends who are interior designers so I'm sure they can provide some tips and tricks!
Were there any places that you thought there would be rounded corners but they werent included, such as on bulkheads or coffered cielings, etc?

The only place where we don't have any rounded ones is on our shower in the ensuite. The glass wall kneewall has square. other than that all the rest are round.

We also chose rounded beaded corners and it is amazing how many places there are rounded beaded corners that I didn't think of. They are on bulkheads, between rooms where there is no trim, on coffered ceilings, around closet sliders. They don't miss anything. In our first house, we had rounded beaded arches and didn't opt for the rest of the house to be the same because of the cost and I was sorry. We figured that we were paying over $1000 (or whatever it was back then) for a few corners when really I wasn't thinking about all the places it really would have appeared. It does give the house a much softer look. We painted our kitchen a different colour from our family room with a rounded beaded arch in the middle and we taped a line inbetween and it turned out great so it really isn't that hard to overcome painting obstacles. Good luck!

I have it and like mentioned above they put it pretty much everywhere.

Thanks Greg.
Has anyone had trouble changing the base boards (to taller ones) due to the rounded corners?

What model do you have? Ours was 1100 and it is throughout the whole main floor and upstairs

we are in the bungalow.......they told us just the main level.....not upstairs
most of our openings have wood trim..........so when I count....it would have been 4 corners......big rip off

Good thing you found that out...that would have been a huge upset!
Hopefully it is worth it for us...too late to back out now anyways lol.

You may find that you have more corners than you realize. We have rounded beaded arches in our home right now and didn't upgrade the rest of the house to beaded corners because it was only 4 corners. We did add the beaded corners to our Mill Pond home (as well as arches again) and upon looking at it, they round things you don't think of: all of the edges on a coffered ceiling, all of the edges on any bulkheads, the corner on a vaulted ceiling, corners around a closet - in addition to wall corners. We were very happy we are doing in in our new home.
