Heated Floors ?

We are wondering if anyone has had heated flooring installed under their ceramic flooring ? Although ceramic looks nice, it can tend to be bit cold at times. Or are there certain upgraded tiles that do not feel so cold ?

Too my knowledge Mattamy never offered under ceramic heating for the floors. (at least for the townhouses)
If they did I would have upgraded to that in the kitchen and bathrooms.

The ceramic floors are cool to walk on. I had friends over a couple nights ago to play dominos, we played in the kitchen and my friends said there feet were cold. Only option is too use an area rug I think.

We got the bumpy tile throughout the house. It feels pretty warm.

It's a level 1 upgrade and is supposed to imitate slate. It also hides dust really well. There was alot of construction dirt stuck in it though because of all the crevices and we had to get it professionally cleaned and sealed which was expensive.

We also had the upgraded tiling put in and find it is fine as far as warmth goes. We have, however, had a number of significant cracks in our tiling. We hope to address this immediately through the Warranty Office. Initially we were told to put the first one on our one year follow up as we were past our thirty day when we noticed the first one. Due to the number involved now and their significance I will be demanding they be cared for as soon as possible. Anyone else experiencing similar issues?

We have no problems with tiles cracking at all. Whoever they assigned to our house did an excellent job. I would take pictures with a digital camera that records the time if I were you. You're probably going to have to fight them on this one and if you need to get Tarion involved after your one year forms are submitted the time stamped pictures will be helpful.

I did have a chance to speak to several contractors as well as the 'boys' laying the tiles. Mattamy does not offer heated floors and slipping the flooring contractors a little extra won't work because Mattamy does an inspection and won't allow any such changes.
