Ensuite Oasis...Thompson model

Hey there,

If you opt for the "Ensuite Oasis" upgrade in Thompson model can anyone tell me if the shower comes with a glass shower door, or is that an additional upgrade?

Not quite sure as we didnt purchase that model! I would wager that you wouldnt get it and it would be a upgrade for a additional cost! We upgraded our ensuite and still had to pay for our glass shower door!
Did you get your design guide yet? Check in there? Im sure someone on here will post your info?

We ordered the Ensuite Oasis in the Thompson. The standard is no door at all; you are expected to just put in a shower curtain. You can upgrade to a glass shower door for approximately $500 (like the model). You can also upgrade to make the enitre one side of the shower glass (not just the door), which is what we did, and this costs $2,500. When you upgrade to make the entire one side glass, you can then upgrade to make the ceiling have tiles, for $170.

Zach-Cheu, I'm not sure what you mean about getting the ceiling tiled. As far as I know the shower comes with a tiled ceiling, at least mine did.

I guess it looks like my husband and I will have to allocate another $500 to our ensuite! These things sure do add up!

We bought the house last week and we will be going back this week to confirm the structural upgrades. I am assuming that we will get our design book and pricing sometime after that?

Lastly, any idea on the cost of rounded corner beads on the ground floor?

we paid $1,800 for a half glass wall and a full glass door........

round corner beed....was like $1500....so not worth it......we has so few corners

We had the corner beads put in and it was just over $1000 and it was for the entire house. There was no option to just do a single floor. And now that our house is being built, there are a lot of places that are beaded - all of the coffered ceilings, the walls around the stairs - along with the regular corners. We added 2 beaded arches and wanted everything to flow.

Zach-Cheu, I'm not sure what you mean about getting the ceiling tiled. As far as I know the shower comes with a tiled ceiling, at least mine did.

If you upgrade to get the half glass wall and glass shower door, the ceiling no longer comes with tiles because they take out the bulk head, so the glass goes right up to the ceiling as opposed to the bulkhead. We wanted to make sure the condensation wouldn't ruin the ceiling (because I like to take burning hot showers..lol) so we decided to get tiles put back onto the ceilings. Some might think this is unnecessary but I really wanted it. I also think it will look nicer with tiles all around.

The rounded bead in a Thompson is around $1000 and I think it was worth every penny, I love the way it softens and modernizes the look of the entire house.

I agree, I love the look as well and had thought the price for doing this would be enormous. $1000 comes as a surprise now I have to get Kris to agree to yet another upgrade. It's so easy to get carried away!!
