If you are in phase 5, did Mattamy move up your closing date? My closing date was revised from Dec 2009 to July 2009. I'm that much closer to moving into the new house!!

Wow! That is awesome to hear!
We had a clause in our Purchase Agreement stating that if they were to finish early that we can move in up to 3 months in advance. We decided to take that clause out as we didn't want to be moving in December!

That is a huge difference!! Wow good for you. I'm in phase 5 as well but we took the clause out about moving in early as we are in a lease and we just want to be on a timeline that we know won't be adjusted. But contratulations to you!!!! What lot number are you??

I didn't remove the clause about moving early. My lease is month by month, so, it gave me the flexibility to move early.
Danielleandcody, I am lot 27....just around the corner from you. I liked the lots backing onto greenspace.

Fletcher, that is so funny we almost bought lot 28 but at the last moment decided on lot 36!! Well you will have to get the neighbourhood all ready for us!! And we'll have to have a street party at some point!! Have you had your design consultation yet?? We are going to pick out our brick this week-end. Have you been to the site lately??

DanielleandCody, I have not had my design consultation yet, however, I have picked the brick....I went with the san antonio. What brick are you planning to choose? When we picked our brick, there were 2 choices that I could not choose due to neighbouring houses. So, we were close to being next door neighboors....cool. Well, we're not too far from each other. Looking forward to the street parties...good way to get to know your neighbours. I was at the site yesterday.....seems they are getting ready to pva Fletcher Circle. Also, looked at a few hillcrest models....including smartsexy's house. Have you seen the site lately?

Hey Fletcher, we just got back from our brick selection!! We were a little disappointed that we couldn't go with our 1st or 2nd brick choice but are very happy with what our siding, door etc colouring is going to be. We won't have that much exposed brick on our frontage anyway. We went with Summerside for our first choice and San Antonio (BS3) for our second choice. The whole way home I was doubting if we should have gone San Antonio. Which San Antonio package did you go with?? I think the one package was more beige and the other one had the green siding. We also went around the site!! Wow was it cold out there today!!! But all of the piping and sewers are in the ground. I agree with you that they will be paving pretty soon! It's all so very exciting!! We also looked in the design centre again to look at the cabinets. We think we have an option that we like as we had found one with Canac but unfortunately our phase and on will have to go with Aya. So what model do you have? I'm guessing the Hillcrest?!

Hey Fletcher,
How did you like our home? The progress from last week has been awesome! I don't know why they left the basement open to below. I was sooo freaked out to go up the stairs as looking down you see the concrete! Yea.... That and the fact they were temp stairs it took me a while to go up LOL
So far so good!

danielleandcody, you picked out several good brck selections...however, I'm partial to the san antonio. I went with PB3 with the green siding. Luckily, there is no siding on the hillcrest...it has the board and baton instead of the siding. the board and batton on the PB3 is beige. there is alot of brick exposure on the front of the hillcrest, elev A. I was at the design centre on the weekend as well. What style of cabinet you leaning towards?
smartsexy, the framing of your house is looking sharp. when they start, it does not take long to see alot of changes. how often are you visiting your home?

Thanks!
We visit the site every Sunday afternoon :) Want to keep an eye on our place to make sure we get every upgrade we requested and to make sure we don't get the things we deleted or removed.
How often do you go up?

So we got the phone call and letter from Mattamy regarding closing on July 09/09!!!!!!! Originally we thought that we wouldn't take it if it was offered but we have had a change of heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe now it's only 8 months away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it will be summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are so excited!!!! So it looks like we can start the block parties in summer 09!!!!
Fletcher the cabinets we are looking at are Paifica in Oak Cocoa. We are really set on the dark cabinets and this is the darkest that they come when you look at the included selection (I think). They classify them under the "contempory" style. How about you guys?? Have you made any informal decisions yet?? I think the hardest is going to be flooring and what to do with the different bathrooms!!!
Have you received your binder yet??? I'm getting so anxious!!
Anyway I hope everyone has had a great week. The neighbourhood is really starting to take shape and wow it looks amazing!!:)

Congrats DanielleandCody on the new closing date. I believe Mattamy is planning to change the closing dates of phase 5 to the summer of 2009. I'm looking forward to the block party as well.
I'm leaning towards an urban look.....Manhattan Cocoa Maple with big door knobs. I know which ceramic tile, but, don't know the name of it....lol. I will go with standard carpeting on the main floor, but, will be replaced with engineered hardwood after move in. Have you seen the area yet.....seen the curbs!!

Hey Fletcher!
We were on vacation so we haven't been up to the site in about two weeks now, but are planning this week-end to make a trip that way!! We are so excited!!!! I can't wait to see curbs!! Is there an sign of where they are putting lamp posts etc.??? We will do our upgrading for hardwood floors sometime after closing as well. We were originally told that it would cost approx. $20000 for the entire house to be done and baically laughed at them! Anyway perhaps we'll see you around the site soon. Have a great week.

Danielleandcody,
I have not been to the site last week. I did not notice any signs of lamp posts yet. I noticed Mattamy has lot # signs for Phase 3...wish they would do the same for Phase 5. Let me know what you see at the site on the weekend.

Our closing date is tomorrow - Nov. 5 - we are so excited to move in. It has been such a long wait, bought the house in April 2008.
We look forward to meeting everyone.
