OK, now it's my turn to rant!

We deleted board closet sliders from all closets and asked Mattamy to please provide us with the manufacturer and style of the interior doors, as well as the handles.

They told us the maker was JeldWen and the style was called "Rockport".

Well, we just spent $400+ on special order doors from Lowe's and .... they don't match.

They're a similar style (5 panels), but very noticibly different.

Now, we have to beg and plead for lowe's to take them back (they say they won't but word on the street is that they will if you push it) and we're totally back to square one. No doors, no idea who makes the doors or where to order them.

I'm mad at Mattamy. They wanted to charge us $3000+ to upgrade to doors instead of sliders, and it was only after pricing it out on our own using the information they gave us that we decided to do it on our own.

Turns out, we now have no idea how much these doors are going to cost or where we can get them.

Argh!!!

While you wait to get the money back you should check out the ReStore.

They sell doors, cupboards, lighting etc...alot of it is from new construction homes and renovations. It's hit and miss but they always have a ton of doors, closet doors even shower doors. Some are new and some are used.

There's one behind Smitty's furniture north-east of Hespeler Rd and 401.

The ReStore in Burlington on Appleby line usually has a ton of stuff...the one in Guelph we found seemed like an oversized garage sale full of junk...like I said it's hit and miss but you can pick up a french door for $40 or $50 that would cost $150+ in the stores. I am guessing closet doors would be alot cheaper too, provided they had the style and size you needed.

They sell almost anything...kitchen cabinet handles, toilets, furniture, tools, paint, flooring, countertops, lighting fixtures...I have even seen granite countertops...

They are non-profit...proceeds go to charity...I think everything is donated from builders and contractors etc.

Sorry to hear that babymaeby!
I wonder why they wouldn't be the same if it's from the same manufactuer and door style.

I'm hoping you find something really close to the door style you're looking for and not for an arm and a leg pricetag!

Yaay for Lowe's! They took them back no problem. I love that store. Too bad it's all the way in Brantford. I would totally go there instead of home depot.

We did get a nice set of cellular shades there that fit our great room windows perfectly - like custom. And reasonably priced too!

Josh went into the Mattamy office yesterday and found out where Mattamy actually gets their doors...so we're well on our way.

Rant over!

Did they provide the name of the manufacturer and model of the interior door handles? I'd be interested in knowing this! Thanks.

Yes, they are made by Quikset and they are named Delta. Good luck finding them though.

Are you sure you have the spelling of the company name correct babymaeby? I think maybe it should be Kwikset.

Home Depot and Lowes both carry Kwikset products, according to their website.

I believe ours are the Delta's in the Antique Nickel finish.

Yeah, that's what the website says. I would love to know if anyone actually finds our levers in any store around here. We've been to HD, Rona and Lowe's with no luck.

Thanks KC you're right ...I spelled it wrong.

Maybe they could special order them for you. You might be able to get them in just a few days.
