Where ya moving from?
There are so many different ways to move. It really depends on what your personal needs are. I think one of the cheapest and most convenient ways to move would be to rent some of those PODS and load them yourself. You can keep them for a while and when you're ready to move they move the POD to your new house and come back to pick it up when you're done unloading. They don't have anyone who can load and unload them for you though. But they can probably put you in touch with a company that can help but that sounds too complicated.
We're using AMJ Campbell but they can be expensive if you have alot of stuff. We're only using them for some things so it's not too bad. I have some very heavy office furniture that requires professionals to move. Most of our stuff is already in storage and we're going to rent a truck and move it in ourselves in stages over the next few months.
You have to be careful which moving company you hire though. If you don't go with one of the well known companies you could get scammed. Make sure whoever you hire comes to your house to give you a proper quote. There's horror stories of people who have their stuff held hostage if they don't pay rediculous amounts to the moving company.
Alot of the moving companies that telemarket for your business seem to just be brokers and they're really aggressive. They creeped me out. I would find a moving company in the yellow pages to be safe.

As soon as I read the 1st post that is the first thing I thought about - all the horror stories I've heard about.
Please google whichever company you do end up going with! It may save you time, stress and money!
I wish I could provide feedback as to a good moving company to use however, I've never used one. A bunch of family and beer did the trick for us - Oh and we had to feed them lol :D

We went with "Two small men with big hearts" for our local move. It was about $85/hr, 4 hours min.

we used Good Ol`Boys here in Cambridge. The companies place looks like a dive but they did an amazing job, were quick and very reasonably priced. I would use them again.

I didn’t get a positive experience with Good Ol`Boys. We hired their truck with two men for our move today. It was 95$/h, 4h min. I also paid $70 for additional insurance. We didn’t have a lot of items to move, and expected it won’t take more than 3 hours including driving, but our movers were slow enough to work all 4 hours. If we were not helping them with minor items they would definitely go with one extra hour of work.
Although they didn’t cause any noticeable damage to our home and tried to be careful with furniture items, two minor pieces of furniture were broken. The added insurance was worth nothing as they charge you $250 deductibles if you make a claim.
If you are looking for a stress less move-in, check other variants.
