Carpet underpad

which did you go for on each floor? is it worth me getting if i'm going to put in hardwood about a year after close?

We went for the 2nd upgrade throughout. I wouldn't waste the money if you're going to remove the carpet soon anyway. In the areas where you won't have hardwood I think it's definitely worth upgrading underpad. It will make your carpet last for what seems like forever. In our current house we have upgraded underpad and the carpet looks really good even after 14 years.

plus if you plan to tear it up sooner rather than later, you may be able to re-use the upgraded underpad in your basement finishing when the time comes.

The problem is Mattamy charges too much for underpad. If you want to use it in the basement, it's much cheaper to just buy it yourself.
