Has anybody else seen the flooding on Black Bridge Rd? I went by the day after the "big melt" and the road is completely under water just past the train tracks, but before the bridge. I have noticed that there is an OPP officer there at all times to make sure that nobody tries to cross it. When I spoke to him, he said that the water is moving too quickly to freeze and that it's about 3 feet deep at the deepest point.
I wonder if it will stay like this all winter and if so, how bad it will get in the spring? Either way, I'm sure that there is some serious damage to the road by now.

Anxious, I have a picture on my own FB site taken from last year April 10th 2008 and it has a giant road closed sign and another that says water over road! So you can bet it will last till mid April till early may!
It is closed for your own safety but imagine how the guy near the tracks feels lol!

I've seen the flooding but never a cop there. I wonder what Cambridge plans to do to correct the issue - But I am thinking they won't do much if it's been like this up until now....

We have friends that live right on the other side of Townline, through the intersection at Black Bridge and they said that someone actually tried to drive through the water last week and flooded their engine and stalled it. That might be why the cop is there (especially over New Years), to make sure that nobody else tries to go through.

I don't think that there is much that the City CAN do about this issue...especially not anytime soon. The Black Bridge was just commemorated as a historical Regional site and in order to correct the flooding issue, they would have to remove or at least alter the bridge.
The city has already taken a lot of heat for this subdivision and one of the points of concern was that bridge. If they all of the sudden they need to fix it because of the people from Mill Pond, there will be an uprising.
