So I thought I would start this thread for those to post what appliances they purchased.

Since our house is closing pretty soon, we've been actively searching for appliances. We ended up purchasing with Tasco Distributors in Brampton.
Since we didn't care much about having the same brands for the kitchen and laundry it allowed us to have flexible pricing.
We got:

Fridge: Samsung 19 cu ft Black Fridge

Range: Black LG 5.6 Self Cleaning Convection Oven (A must for my baking!!!)

Dishwasher: Black Haier Ultra Quiet Tall Tub with Stainless interior.

Washer & Dryer: Whirlpool ones lol (As long as it washes my clothes, I don't care much about it!!)

We purchased warranties for all items - the bonus there is that if we don't have to use the warranty on all the items by the end of it, then we get a credit for the amount unused with Tasco. Better than nothing I guess!

As for delivery, they were generous and paid half our delivery for us to Cambridge!!

They also price match, so if you happen to find your appliances cheaper else where you can go back and tell them and they will adjust the pricing! (We're doing that tonight!)

My only piece of advice, do your research ahead of time. That way you'll know when you're getting a good deal!;)

Exciting!

We are still looking for a washer/dryer. Did you get a front loader?

We didn't end up going with the front loader, but they had them on sale for $1200 the pair (Reg. $1600 I think)

That's awesome!!! And that's really good that the company will pay for part of the costs to deliver to Cambridge!

for those of you getting stainless steel appliances do you think it matters "colourwise" if they are from the same brand or not?

I prefer black appliances for the kitchen anyway! less kids fingersprints I find!

I thought that was a great deal :) The sales person we got was really nice.

I prefer black also... I would go nuts wiping down the fingerprints from Kevin and I all the time...

We went back last night to adjust some pricing (Our fridge went CRAZY cheap - Like cost pricing!!) and she took off an additional hundred bucks!! Makes our total discount go even higher and the price of our appliances even sweeter :D

We are thinking about stainless steel appliances as well and have been told by many people that you should go with the same brand for that exact reason. I guess it really depends how picky you are and if any of the appliances are side by side. Good luck shopping!!!!:)

It does look pretty to have all the matching appliances, and sometimes you get a good deal by buying all the appliances in the same series

where we bought if we bought 3 pieces we got the dishwasher for free

so we bought the stove fridge and range hood. theses guys are in Quebec and will deliver the whole package to cambridge for 300$ and I didn't have to pay PST on anything since it's being "exported" lol

Another thing to watch when going with different manufacturers is the handles. Every applaince manufacturer uses different handles so that is also something to be aware of.
When I bought my first LG appliances I had to make sure that the fridge I ordered was made at the same time as my stove because they changed the style of handle on the fridge halfway through the year.
I like my stuff to match so I would have to say its pretty important to stay with the same brand. Just pick one that you like and go with it.

I stopped by Bad Boy today to see if they could be competitive on the pricing that I had received from Mabe for our fridge, stove and dish washer. They guy there said that Mabe was selling to me for below Bad Boy's cost on two of the three items.

I would absolutely start with Mabe (GE Canada) to at least get pricing and then use them as leverage to negotiate for whatever appliances you decide to get. Get them to send you a quote with the "special" Mattamy pricing and then take that around to a few places and get them to beat it...if they can.

We are going with the GE Profile line, which are a good quality product, and apparently for a great price.

Just thought I'd share out... we're going with the new Electrolux lineup (stainless) and we've gotten the best pricing from The Brick (surprise, surprise) from their commercial sales dept. No one else can be their cost.

I think that you should have gotten "flyer" from the design centre with your design guide...we did. It will have the info that you need.

Here's what I have....

http://www.geappliances.ca <- to view their products
GE Appliance Design Centre
Unit 11 - 400 Spinnaker Way
Vaughan, ON
1-866-979-7002 or 905-669-6563

I looked for my quote, but I don't have it here, so I can't give you the name of the person that I spoke to. You'll have to tell them that you're part of the Mill Pond community which is part of the Peel Division of Mattamy.
