Wow- I heard about this on facebook. That's crazy - I surprised they are allowed to do that. How do you feel about your new location? Does the change matter much to you?

Brian,

How can they just move you.........................

You picked out a certain lot in that location...................

Are they moving all of those townhouses from your old location...........

ShaunnNRachel

Yah the reason they moved them was because they cant bring water through the empty part of the subdivision up to the top where they planned the original lots on Michigan Ave. So instead they brought them to the bottom of phase 4 at henwood silverthorne and somerville.
We had options in this matter....1, keep the existing lot with a much further closing day and no price guarantee. 2, 5000 bucks off a 34 foot model, 3, 5000 bucks off a toenhouse in the new location. Or we could have backed out of the deal completely.

We chose to move to silverthorne at the intersection of thatcher and silverthorne at lot 22-1

I'm glad they gave you an incentive to move. Their reasoning makes sense as well.

Hi Brian,

Sounds like a good deal for you............

What is a "lookout" does that mean that at the garden door in the kitchen that you have a deck, becuase it is not level with ground level.

You better ask them if you possession date will be moved up now that you are in an earlier phase.......just to prepare yourself.............

Jason,

We have a lookout lot with the Hillcrest model. It's almost a walkout lot, but, does not slope as deep as a walkout lot. You do not get patio doors in the basement, but, it does include larger windows at the rear of the house with a 4x4 deck from the main floor rear patio doors. Hope that helps explain a lookout lot.

thanks Fletcher,

That does explain it......

I am happy with my garden door at ground level................i want a deck and perennial gardens all around......no grass....lol.........

I wonder how high the lookout is above the backyard grade?
I think the move is great! We can upgrade the staircase now! We were just gonna leave the carpeted before, but the extra money can go to this plus upgraded cabinets hopefully and a pot light or two...lol..

We're now lot 22-1 Phase 4
Silverthorne Ave..(I liked Michigan better though...lol)

Personally, for me... I want to build a deck in the backyard, so basement windows along the back of the house would be pointless, as the deck will block any light/view that you'd get into the backyard from the basement.

It all really depends on your future plans and how you want to use the space in the basement and in your backyard.

It's nice that you'll already have a deck built for you...but you will lose the light/view from the basement. It's a hard call...

Fletcher,

You have a look-out?
Did they alter your basement floor plans compared to a "normal" lot?
Out hillcrest doesn't have any windows at the back of the house on the one side.

The deck provided is just big enough to get through the patio door and down a small set of stairs to the ground, though. I'd want to rip it off and replace it with a "real" deck that was bigger than just the width of the doors.

Dion,
Yes, I have a lookout lot. They did alter the windows in my basement. They deleted one of the side windows and added 3 casement windows at the rear of the house. One window is underneath the great room and 2 windows at the sides of the bump out (under the kitchen). We will keep the 4x4 deck from the patio doors and will build a second deck at ground level. We planned it whereby none of the basement windows will be under a deck.

Fletcher that is awesome that you have a design appointment!!! When is it?? We received a phone call this week to book one, but I haven't found the time to actually call them to book!!! We are so excited!!! Are you going to the orientation tomorrow night??? Have you seen the site lately??? Are there any exciting changes?? The last time we were out there they were actually moving some dirt around. I'm guessing they were start to grade the lots, but I'm not sure!

Haha Awesome!

If you see some people walking around your place - That's probably me :)

Let me know when they start framing it out, I would love to check it out. Plus Kevin and I like to venture into other Hillcrest's in the area (There isn't that many of us!) to see them coming along :D

DanielleandCody,
Yes, I was at the design orientation last night. There were so many people. Did you show up? My first design appointment is January 12. Spots are filling up fast, you better reserve yours. I got the design book with pricing!! I was on Fletcher Circle this evening and noticed they have started digging holes for foundations.....lots closest to Guelph Ave entrance. Are you part of the advanced digging program?

I was there too on Wednesday night Fletcher however my husband couldn't make it! It was extremely busy and I didn't stick around too long. Did the little tour thing and left I couldn't be bothered to look at anything in depth as it was too crowded. Yes we are involved in the early digging program. We have a moved up closing date for July 9/09!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) We didn't think we could go for it as we are in a lease but everything has worked out for the better!!! I went by the site on Wednesday during the day!!! It's just going to get even more exciting here on out!!!!! We've been so excited seeing other peoples homes go up so I can just imagine how we will be with our own!!!! We have our design appointment on the 22nd of January!!! I didn't make the appointment until the orientation and wow there were no spots left!!!! Have you had the chance to go through everything yet and make any decisions??? What are you going with??? Keep me posted about the site as I'm not sure how regular we'll be able to make it out. Thanks. Have a good one! D

DanielleandCody,
I didn't stay too much longer past the tour either...too many people. We are part of the early digging program as well. Do you know when they will dig the hole for your foundation? I've made some decisions, but, seem to change my mind. Have you made any decisions yet? Sure, I can keep you posted about the site...very easy for me to visit the site since I work 5 mins away. Looking forward to the summer block party!!!!!!!!!!!!
