Hi Everyone,
It's coming up to that time where we'll need to look into rentals :(
I was wondering if anyone knows where we can rent a large (16 - 20 foot or bigger) truck rental for moving. Unlimited Kms would be preferable. I don't know if they have trucks that big available with unlimited kms. If they don't then how about one with low prices/per km or a discount that I can apply to it?
I'll even take names of places you've rented a large truck to move and I'll call them up. All the sites I have been to doesn't look like they even offer large trucks like that.
Thanks so much in advance for your help!

I would stay away from Uhaul as most of them are garbage and i would rent a 20 foot automatic Hino at penske truck rental! See what they can work out for you! Their trucks are very nice and spacious!:) And no I dont work for them! They are located on west drive in brampton south of queen near orenda!

Thanks Frank for the suggestion.
I think I will give them a call this week sometime to get some pricing. Everyone's website isn't too helpful, so I am hoping I won't have too much of a hard time locating larger trucks!

We are going with PODS, they drop off the container (16 foot) a week before we move. They will pick it up and drop it off at the new house on the 24th, and we move in on the 25th. It's already cleared with Mattamy to be there a day early and we get to have a sleep over at Grandmas. All together I believe it will total $300 - $350.

Jay's idea is great also! I know that AMJ campbell van lines does the same thing except they drop a whole trailer at your door, you load it and then they come back to deliver it to your place. When its empty they come to pick it up! I might consider this as I have a bunch of stuff to move! Its called U move from AMJ campbell and its up near the Apple factory in brampton on Highway 7 going towards georgetown! If you dont have much Dion penske will be fine!

Thanks for the great suggestions!! Keep the truck companies coming! (we're staying FAR away from Uhaul from numerous horror stories we've heard!!)
Kevin and I have accumulated ALOT of items (We've had a year to buy LOL) And now that it's coming into the final couple months our debit cards have been burning with all the use they are getting now. Plus we won't know until early Jan if we'll need to haul our new appliances (if it's cheaper) or if we're having them delivered. Those will take up lots of space.
We want to rent a truck for sure I think (Kevin isn't keen of the idea of someone else being in charge of our stuff) but we want to get a large enough one that we can do the trip from Brampton to Cambridge ONCE (since we'll be having to pay per km!)

My sister-in-law works at an appliance company and I was thinking of buying the appliances sooner and taking them to our new house when we move. She said she thought that was a really bad idea because the appliances are hard to move and you risk denting them if you move them too many times. So we've decided we're going to pick them up and take them to our new house direct. We are going to have a few weeks overlap when we actually own two houses so timing shouldn't be a problem.
We have to install the appliances ourselves since buying at a discount means we don't get any of the perks of retail like installation included. I think we'll hire someone to come in and install the gas stove and the dishwasher.
If this is your first house you might want to have the appliances delivered to your new house and installed by the retailer.

I got a quote from PODs from Mississauga and it was a little over 400 bucks USD.
Its not really worth it for us, as we'd have no room to park in the driveway and need to get special city permits. The convenience of having it there a week isnt really worth the extra 200 bucks it would cost us over renting a 22 footer from Budget
(120.99) + KM's etc.
